Day 1 Urumqi Tour to Heavenly lake
Heavenly lake is about 110 km away from Urumqi, located on the top of Tianshan mountain. The surface of the lake is 1910 meters above sea level, just one kilometer higher than Urumqi. It takes about 2-3 hours to reach to the lake since we have to take the shuttle bus for the last 30 km of the trip. You can have a hiking around the lake for hours, blue sky, natural forests and grassland view will relax your mind.
Day 2 Urumqi to Turpan,190km
In the morning, we drive to Turpan city, it will take us about 3.5 hours by car, but you will enjoy the landscapes and biggest wind farm in China on the way, you can see semi desert, lakes, grassland, grassless mountain, sand and stone desert.
Turpan is about 1 km lower than Urumqi by altitude, when you arrive to Turpan, you will have a lunch at local restaurant, enjoy from the Uighur cuisine. then will visit Sultan minaret (the only highest minaret in Xinjiang, was build 18th century), which very close to the Turpan city. Then you will go to the Karez irrigation (an underground water cannel, was build 2000 years ago) and Jiaohe Ancient city, Jiao was added to UNESCO 2014, is a best preserved soil structured city ruins in China. After dinner, you can walk around the food streets of Turpan city. You will find that it is very different from Urumqi and relaxing.
Day 3 Turpan to Urumqi
Today, we will have a unique Turpan tour. After breakfast, we will drive east and see the marvelous landscape Flaming Mountains, then go to the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, which were a Buddhist temple with ancient paintings. After that, we drive east again to visit Tuyuk village and have a village local lunch. The environment is not luxurious, but the food is quite tasty, and the experience with locals is good.
After visiting there, you will drive back to Urumqi. It is about 250 kilometers from the village. Finish the tour
